Is childcare right for me?
Anyone with a passion for children and education can study childcare!
Childcare is one of the most rewarding careers, as you will be playing such an important role during a child’s early and most influential years.
Are you a recent school leaver?
If you’ve recently graduated from high school (or are just about to!) you’re likely already thinking about what your future may hold.
If you’re full of energy, are a great communicator, and are searching for a rewarding career in a growing industry, why not consider childcare?
Read this blog post to find out why you should choose a career in childcare!
Are you currently employed?
Whether you’re working full- or part-time, you can undertake your studies on a part-time basis. While completion will be slower, working at your own pace will ensure a successful learning experience!
Are you considering a career change?
Good for you!
Childcare is such an important job and we would love to have you join the industry. Not sure if childcare is right for you? This blog post will help!
Can you help me choose the right course?
Choosing the right course usually comes down to your long-term goals.
We’ve written a great blog post dissecting the Certificate III and the Diploma which might help answer some questions you have. If you’re still unsure and would like more guidance, please don’t hesitate to call or contact us.
Where do I study?
Southern Solutions offers training centres in the heart of Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane.
Through smaller classes, students progress through their course quicker and perform better.
Enjoy learning in a space that feels more like a tight-knit community than a class, with students and trainers alike offering peer support and encouragement!
Can I study full time or part time?
There’s no right or wrong answer here; choose whatever fits in with your lifestyle. Evidently, full time study will be completed sooner.
Full time childcare course
Dive right into your childcare course through full-time study. Fewer distractions and a full immersion means you can finish your course, obtain your qualification, and enter the job market sooner!
Full time study is ideal for recent school graduates who are keen to begin their training.
Part time childcare course
Continue earning a regular income by choosing to complete your childcare course part time. A busy family life may also encourage you to pursue part-time study.
Do I have to pay up front?
Payment plans offer an extra layer of convenience to those who are itching to begin study but may not have the full funds readily available for a one-off payment.
You may pay your course fees up front, but for added convenience, Southern Solutions can also tailor a payment plan. Please note that your course must be paid in full before you complete training.
For more information on payments, view this page. If you’ve got further questions, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us! We’d be happy to talk you through your options.
Do you offer government-funded courses? (And am I eligible?)
Yes! Southern Solutions offers government-funded childcare courses.
The qualification process is simple and we can help you get it underway. If you answer YES to the below, you may be eligible!
- Are you 15 years or older?
- Have you left school?
- Are you an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder, or New Zealand citizen?
Government funding can reduce the overall cost of your course, encouraging you to pursue your studies sooner! Contact us today to start the simple verification process.
Will you help me find childcare placement?
Placement is a core component of your childcare course, giving you the opportunity to leave the classroom-like setting and immerse yourself in the bustling world of childcare!
Work placement is imperative as it allows you to take the skills and knowledge you’ve learnt and apply them to a real-life scenario.
Obtaining childcare placement can be rather simple; the key is to be proactive!
Considering the Certificate 3 in Early Childhood Care and Education? You’ll need to complete a minimum 120 hours of childcare work placement in an approved centre.
Think the Diploma of Early Childhood Care and Education might be right for you? A minimum 240 hours of work experience is required to successfully obtain your Diploma.
Find out some great tips for obtaining placement in our blog post.
