Safe Work and Hygiene Practices
Ensure that all workspaces and utensils are clean to prevent cross contamination while also ensuring that proper work health and safety standards are adhered to.
Learn about the different facets of hospitality, how they all work with one another and how to provide efficient service to people from all different backgrounds.
Bars and Cocktails
Learn how to effectively manage a bar, ensuring at all times the bar area is clean, tidy and adheres to proper work health and safety standards. In this topic you will also learn how to prepare and serve cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages.
Improve your management skills to effectively lead a team in the hospitality environment.
Learn about basic financial transactions, such as bookkeeping and account settlement.
Communicate effectively with staff, management and suppliers to ensure that tasks are completed on time in the most efficient and stress-free manner.
Learn how to effectively source, research and use hospitality specific information to ensure that practices are up-to-date.
Fee for service
If you are not eligible for Smart and Skilled funding, the SIT30616 Certificate III in Hospitality will cost $6220.00.
If you are already working in the industry you may be eligible to complete the SIT30616 Certificate III in Hospitality as a traineeship. When completing a traineeship, you will undertake paid employment, on either a full-time or part-time basis, while also setting aside time each week to focus on completing your required course work as well as undertaking practical observations with your trainer. To complete this as a traineeship you need to gain your employers support.
Traineeship are subsidised by the NSW government, for eligible students. If eligible for a traineeship there will be a co-contribution fee of $1000.
